Spiritleaf 2021 Terpene ad campaign
In late 2021, I was approached by Spiritleaf Cannabis, a branch of Sundial Cannabis, to craft a lively and organic terpene edutainment advertising campaign; Designed to resonate with a demographic of playful 25-50 year old, active folks of all walks of life, all while adhering to the highest standards of professional advertising in the Canadian Cannabis sector.
ILLUSTRATIONS of TERPENE PROFILES:
I created eight unique illustrations, each highlighting a different terpene profile found in cannabis to be printed as posters for giveaways and as a splash of colour and creativity to Spiritleaf’s online and real life presence. These poster illustrations were not only visually captivating but also educational, providing viewers with valuable insights into the aromatic and flavour profiles of various terpene profiles. Each illustration was accompanied by a unique spin on the “Terpene Tour” icon that I created for this project, a codename for quick understanding, and a description of the profile I created based on relevant information.
ANIMATIONS BASED on ILLUSTRATIONS:
Building on the illustrations I’d build, I created a series of animations that brought each of the terpene profiles to life! These animations were designed to engage and entice viewers in store, adding a dynamic element to the campaign and further enhancing the storytelling aspect of Spiritleaf’s brand.
MERCHANDISE DESIGN:
As part of the campaign, I conceptualized and designed exclusive stickers based on each unique terpenes logos - these stickers were offered as prizes to lucky participants of social media giveaways!
Throughout this colourful and creative campaign, my collaboration with Spiritleaf was characterized by a harmonious blend of professionalism, creativity, and educational fun! I’m so proud to present this project as a testament to the power of clear communication, open thinking, and strategic design in the world of cannabis advertising.
