Damn, I love myself a good siesta…. a short afternoon nap that makes me feel like a wizard of tranquillity! I love following my bodies rhythm after lunch - getting myself some weed, a cup of tea w/ honey, and just dipping out of consciousness for a few minutes. It's like hitting the pause button on the mayhem of the work day and indulging in a brief moment of humanity. I wake up feeling refreshed and ready to take on the world again!

Now, they aren’t for everyone but no one’s forcing you to chill. It’s just something that’s existed far longer than our culture and that feels pretty cool. This piece is loosely based on β€œThe Hammock”, a classic by Gustave Courbet (1844).

Sticker is 4”x3.75” and gloss laminated, so it’s 100% UV and weatherproof.

Risograph printed on warm cream coloured 65lb Cougar acid-free stock with four layers of colour. Now, WTF is Risograph printing you ask? Well, it’s a unique and environmentally friendly printing method, developed in Japan in the 90’s, that combines digital and analogue techniques. It produces vibrant and textured prints reminiscent of old-school photocopies, adding a charmingly retro aesthetic to every piece.

WHY IS A HAMBUGER HANDS?

In about 2012ish I had a strong desire to make cool, psychedelic/weirdo β€œdrippy” art and it eventually snowballed into a career in the arts. Coming from a design school background, I made the pivot from full-time corporate gigs to a couple different print shops to learn some printing basics, then started apprenticing at SNAP in Edmonton to learn screenprinting paper and then Burnt Toast in Calgary, AB to learn how to screenprint apparel!

I am consistently one of the most eye catching booths at any art market and I love it.

I started with lil four foot booths at art walks and I’ve worked my way up to needing room in 20’x10 booths after having introduced apparel printing to my lineup around 2019. Some folks do not get why I’m not working for agencies until they see how happy I am slinging merch at art markets. I’m deeply grateful for this gig.
